Amazing Chase in Ottawa - Fun Corporate Team Building Activity

Marybeth here from Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

This week we are in downtown Ottawa running our AmazingChase event for a creative technology company. Race teams were created by the client based on the Myer Briggs personality test. This was a unique and great way to incorporate all skill sets to create a fair and even team, as well as a fun way of getting to know your co-workers. Teams started the chilly afternoon with a group high kick and individual team cheers. From there, teams were off on the race. The course challenged teams with roadblocks and detours, including eating dog biscuits, borrowing items with the public, and getting creative with their art skills. Teams successfully completed the challenges thrown their way and made it to the finish – Mill Street Brew Pub, where they enjoyed well deserved refreshments. Teams shared their funny and wild stories over drinks, while the Amazing Chase champions were announced and awarded medals. The windy weather did not stop this group from having an exciting and interactive afternoon with their co-workers.

Tastiest Cake Creators - Corporate Team Building Event in Mississauga

Hi this is Alexis from Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

This week we are in Mississauga for a Cake Creators event in our client’s luxurious office space. Participants in this fun and engaging team builder had a great time designing, decorating and advertising their fantastic cake creations. Some of the teams were so creative that they turned their cakes into wildly colourful 2 foot tall sculptures. This relaxing afternoon was the perfect reward for our hard working team that’s recently been working above and beyond call of duty to meet short deadlines. Everyone enjoyed collaborating and creating and eating the fruits of their labor at the end of the day.

Minute to Win It Corporate Team Building Activity in Toronto

Hi, this is Alexis from Canadian Outback Adventures with another corporate event update.

We are in Toronto, Ontario this week for a fantastic “Minuteto Win It” event with a group of young professionals who are celebrating the completion of a corporate training program. Minute to Win It engages participants in a series of seemingly simple 60-second physical and cognitive challenges, using unexpected household items. This week’s participants were shy and quiet when they arrived, but their shyness didn’t last long once they got to know their team members. They laughed, cheered, and danced their way through all the challenges. The participants capped off their event with a cheer off between teams, judged by the company directors. Everyone had a wonderful time and by the end of the event they are well on their way to comfortably networking with their colleagues.

CSI: Crime Investigators Corporate Team Building Event in Regina

Hi, this is Jill with another corporate event update.

It is March 20th and we’re here in Regina, Saskatchewan. We’ve just completed a CSI – Crime Investigators event for a local power company. These guys have never done a team building event with us before, so they’re really excited to do something different, outside the norm of what normal team building is. We thought the CSI would be a perfect fit, they have a group that’s high intellectuals, loved the small detail oriented tasks, so the CSI was such a great event for them to be able to complete as their first team building event. We were able to utilize a lot of space in the hotel they were doing their meetings at, which is a beautiful hotel Regina, Saskatchewan, beautiful, old hotel that had a lot of great character to it, so it really enhanced the crime scenes that teams are going around to. It was snowing today, which added for an extra element. The crime scene, the main crime scene with the blood, really stuck out with our car crime scene with the white snow and the deep red blood, which was kind of an extra visual element that teams really loved, made it extra authentic which everyone really thought was super neat. There’s lots of good comments coming back after that challenge with all the different “oohs” and “ahhs” about the crime scene and how bloody it was. These guys had a really fantastic closing speech for their different media briefings that they completed as one of their challenges. It was really fun to see how, throughout an entire group, each team always comes up with something different to have and present. So it’s really awesome for, both myself and my team, to be able to see just the different dynamics of the group coming together and how they all approached the event and solving the crime scene in different ways, so a big highlight there for me. The client was extremely happy with the event, we’ve already talked about doing potentially an Apprentice or Cake Creators for them in the future. They really loved those indoor creative events so, hopefully we’ll be doing those again with them soon and looking forward to another great event.

Wild Goose Chase Corporate Team Building Event in Whistler

Hi, this is Jill with another corporate event update.

It is March 12 and we are up here in beautiful Whistler, BC. We’ve just completed a Wild Goose Chase event for a local tech company that had brought in all of their sales managers from across North America to Whistler for a retreat. They wanted to do the Wild Goose Chase event because they really love the tech aspect of it, as well as the different highlighted areas that we could send them to different tourist locations with this activity. They really enjoyed the ability for people to play at their leisure, wander around the Whistler village area, do some fun challenges and get some really great photos out of it. So we came up with a couple of custom challenges and landmarks for this group so they were able to really hit some of the key highlights of the Whistler village area and some of the fantastic tourist attractions that the area has to offer, and there are just some really great photos that came out of this group’s event. They really enjoyed to themselves and there are some fantastic creativity and some really good team play between the different teams. There’s some competitive team sabotage going on which was really fun to see. Everyone came back with great spirits and had some really fantastic and entertaining stories to share with the entire group. Share those stories over a couple of cold beer afterwards, which everyone really enjoyed at one of the local pubs here in Whistler and there was just a great spirit, everyone had a fantastic time and really enjoyed themselves. The client was really pleased how the event turned out. So it’s always great for us to see that and have those high energy people on our events to really make it memorable for everyone.
