Corporate Castaways in Mooney's Bay Park

Hi! This is Alexis from Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

This week we were at the beautiful Mooney's Bay Park on the Rideau River in Ottawa for a Corporate Castaways event. The Corpororate Castaways is an engaging and energizing teambuilding experience based on the popular TV show, Survivor. This week’s castaways participants were a small team of business consultants who frequently work independently. They relish the opportunity to come together to strengthen their problem solving skills and build camaraderie while competing with cerebral and physical challenges including mind bendered, tuckered out, true or false and more.

Participants commented how they gained inspirations from their colleagues’ problem solving tactics and they look forward to bringing their new perspective in their independent consulting practices.

Secret Agent 007 Corporate Team Building Activity in Whistler

Hi this is Jill with another corporate event update.

It is September 10th here on Whistler, BC, and we just completed a Secret Agent 007 for a local organization that is having their retreat up here. They have brought us in, first time working with us, and looking for something for their conference that they have been putting on for their organization that would be different, fun and engaging, and as it was not mandatory, something would peak the interest of the participants to sign up right from the ghetko. So we have the 007 event as their event of choice and we got to use the hotel a lot for all of the challenges as well as some out of the way locations in the Whistler village, so participants could get out of the conference area to go explore the village a bit while entertaining themselves with the 007 event. The biggest highlight for this event was probably for the participants’ mind that the Martini taste test challenge. Participants loved this, they said interacting with the 007 agent at the martini challenge was definitely one of the funnest interactions they had, such a character on and they really enjoyed having to taste the martinis and figure out all the ingredients while interacting with the undercover agent. So lots of good fun, a really great turn out for this event, which the client was very happy with and the weather held out for them, a lot of sunshine out there and all the participants and including the client were really happy with this event, so looking forward to doing it again next year.

Navigating Kelowna - A GPS Geocache Corporate Team Building Activity

Hi everybody, this is Michelle with Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

We have finished a GPS event in Kelowna, British Columbia, for a management company. We had about 20 people on this activity which took place in downtown Kelowna. We had waypoints located around their start location that sent them off doing a variety of challenges within the area, navigating only with their handheld GPS units. They had a great time with this activity, they don’t typically work together so this is a good opportunity for them to see what kinds of problem solving skills each person had and also see some local attractions around and about.

High Tech Team Building GPS Geocache event in Indianapolis

Hi! Marybeth here from American Outback Adventures and Events with another corporate event update.

We’re just in Indianapolis running our GPS Geocache event for an insurance company. Participants were put into teams of 5 where they’re given GPS units. Using the units, they navigate to the pre-programmed way points throughout the downtown area with various challenges that were encountered along the way. Some included teams performing a random act of kindness for a stranger, learning the art of Tai Chi, and honing in on their taste buds by identifying jelly belly flavours. These participants were gathering to meet from across North America and this GPS event gave participants the chance to see the beautiful downtown of Indianapolis while working together with their co-workers.

Sights and Sounds of Liberty Village through the Amazing Chase Event

Hi! This is Alexis from Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

We were in Liberty Village, Toronto this week for an Amazing Chase event. This week’s Amazing Chase led participants to a series of detour and roadblock challenges in the west end in the lake front area of the city. Team members learned about and capitalized on each other’s strengths while working together to navigate the course and complete the challenges. This week’s Amazing Chase included participants from several collaborating offices of a huge multinational corporation. Participants commented on how much they enjoyed getting to know their colleagues from across the continent and how this experience will be a stepping stone to strengthening inter-office relationships.
