The Crime Investigators of Thornhill

Hi! This is Alexis from Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

We were in Thornhill near Toronto this week for a Crime Investigators event. This exciting event engage participants in a hunt for crime scenes and clues, while challenging them to work together to solve a crime. This week’s participants really immersed themselves in their roles of investigators and they developed some incredibly creative crime solving tactics. At the end of the event, they presented hilarious and highly innovative media briefings. The participants really enjoyed collaborating with one another and seeing each other’s strength outside their typical office roles.

We were in Montreal this week for The Apprentice event. This event combines fun and excitement with the opportunity to give back to important to important community charities. Participants worked in teams to build children’s bikes, decorate the bikes, and then media campaigns to sell the bikes. Everyone really enjoyed working with their teammates, thinking creatively and learning more about their colleagues from around the country. Participants commented on how this was one of the most fun they’ve had participating in a company event and how nice it was to pay it forward by donating the bikes to local children’s charities.

The Art of Giving - A Heart Warming Team Building Activity in Chicago

Hi everyone, it’s Michelle from American Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate even update.

We just finished an Art of Giving activity in Chicago for a home loan group of about 35. Teams were tasked with coming up with a non-perishable food structure using cans and boxes as provided by us. They needed to come up with some sort of structure that went with the theme of global giving. The idea with this activity is that each of the teams built this structure and come up with an advertising campaign as to why their structure is the best. At the end of this activity we donate all of the food to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. We do this in every city and there’s a different recipient every time. It’s a great activity, It’s a really good, feel-good, philanthropic themed event where by everybody has a great time with it and knowing while you’re constructing these awesome statues that all of these food are going for a great cause. So fantastic event, really good time, not only is it fun but it’s feel good and it’s something everyone can do.

Corporate Castaways in Jackson Point

Hi, Marybeth here with Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

This week we are in Jackson point, Ontario, at the Briars Resort running our Corporate Castaways. The  Briars resort is a beautiful venue and worked perfectly right out on their lawn for a Corporate Castaways event. This particular client only had 2 hours so we accommodated and vent our Corporate Castaways to suit their needs. And when we really got into the event and we’re in teams, or also known as tribes, and they competed head to head to be the sole survivors.

It was a fun day, beautiful out and everyone worked really well together, working on their communication, their team building skills as well as problem solving and listening.

Building Teams is just a Party in the Park

Hi there, Shannon here with American Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.
We just had a Party in the Park in Boston, Massachusetts. A Party in the Park is just what it sounds like, we help coordinate your corporate get together leading up to the event and the day of, we’re there to help people get off their feet and having some fun. This Party in the Park was for a returning client who had the same event with us in 2012. Last year, they held the event on one of the islands just off shore Boston. But this year, they wanted to stay in the mainland. We held the event in the outdoor space of the Commonwealth Museum in Boston, and it was a beautiful venue and the perfect size for 100 guests.

For last year’s event the caterer that we used brought some additional games with them like Can Jam, Corn Hole and Ladder Ball. The client asked if it were possible for us to provide those games this year since we are using a different caterer, and we made it so. Guests at this Party in the Park spent a fun afternoon playing Can Jam, Volleyball, Ladder Ball, Bocci, Giant Jenga, and many more. Guests also formed teams of 4 to play some American Outback custom games that we brought with us that rely on trust, memory and the ability to shed your shame momentarily.
Kids and adults alike played away the afternoon and enjoyed some quality catering from a local company. They challenged each other into competitions and especially the Sumo suits that we rented. Overall, a fun afternoon in the sun here in Boston, this Party in the Park was a great success and we here at American Outback Adventures & Events hope to see this client again next year.
