Philanthropic Corporate Team Building Activity At Its Finest in Toronto

Marybeth here from Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

Last week we ran our Apprentice event for a merchant service company at the unique Airship 37 venue in Toronto’s historic distillery district. Participants were split into 10 teams of 5 people and asked to build, enhance and customize a children’s bike by shopping at the apprentice store for tools and materials they needed. Teams were given an initial budget to spend at the store, but needed to complete tasks and collaborate with other teams in order to get the supplies they needed. Additionally, teams had to create an innovative advertising campaign to market and sell their bike. Some teams chose to do a skit while others highlighted the unique features of their bike. These presentations were done in front of the entire group, creating lots of laughs and great memories. Food and beverages were served throughout the event, making it relaxed, fun, and a social atmosphere. The top 3 teams were chosen by the Apprentice advisers, the winning team was chosen by popular vote and awarded Canadian Outback medals. Teams also created unique team name and the price went to the most creative name. Concluding the event, children from Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Holstian Region and Native Child and Family Services of Toronto were welcomed into the event room to receive their brand new bicycles. The special guest and bike donation was a complete surprise for the participants. This was an amazing and touching end to a fun evening, especially seeing the children ride the bikes around with big smiles on their faces.

The Apprentice is a great team building event, but not only is it fun and interactive event to build your team, but is also a great way to give back to the community.

Gift Giving in Corporate Team Building in Toronto

Miguel here with another Canadian Outback corporate event update.

This banking company booked an Apprentice event for 700 of their employees, taking place at a hotel downtown Toronto. The group was divided and assigned different rooms throughout the hotel, but at the end, all of them gathered together at a large board ballroom. Where the winning teams had the opportunity to display and showcase their beautiful creations, what they didn’t know is that those items will be donated to the charity this financial institution supports. A few kids were present in the room to receive some of the gifts and the charity representative took the microphone to thank the participants and to let them know where those items will go and how these donations will change the lives and make a lot of children very happy.

If you have a large group and you would like to book with us, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. Please check us out at canadianoutback.com, thank you!

Early Christmas in Houston with The Apprentice Corporate Team Building Activity

Hey there everybody, it’s Michelle with American Outback Adventures and Event with another corporate event update.

We have finished an Apprentice, Bike Build, event for an insurance company in Houston at their office, and this was an activity designed to provide a philanthropic feel while putting groups into teams that don’t work in the same office and, in fact, not in the same city. They had an annual general meeting and this was part of their fun evening time cocktails and mingling activity. So we had everybody, after dinner, building bikes that were then donated to the fire fighters’ toy drive for Christmas time. So we had 2 members of the Houston Fire Department come down, not only help out build the bikes but also say a little bit about the charity itself, where these brand new bikes were going. Everybody had a great time, it was really awesome to have someone from the fire fighters’ toy drive there on site to speak a little bit about the charity and get everybody a little bit more involved and understanding where these bikes go. So, everyone was very greatful for that and had a great time with the bikes. We had different sizes so that many different aged children can enjoy these, every age from about 5 years of age, up until about 12, I would say. So we donated 9 bikes and everybody had a great time and were very excited to be a part of this activity.

The Apprentice Event - Gift Giving in Montreal

Hi! This is Alexis from Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

We were in Montreal this week for The Apprentice event. This event combines fun and excitement with the opportunity to give back to important to important community charities. Participants worked in teams to build children’s bikes, decorate the bikes, and then media campaigns to sell the bikes. Everyone really enjoyed working with their teammates, thinking creatively and learning more about their colleagues from around the country. Participants commented on how this was one of the most fun they’ve had participating in a company event and how nice it was to pay it forward by donating the bikes to local children’s charities.
