Our latest event was a Team Pursuit planned for a research
company which focus their resources on children, families and community. Team
Pursuit is an activity that breaks some barriers in group in a fun and
interactive way. It’s the perfect activity for diverse skill sets as team
complete challenges that are themed cerebral, physical, skill and mystery. Teams
earn points by completing challenges and submitting their answers in the form
of fun videos, photos, text, and trivia responses. All challenges are displayed
simultaneously in the Canadian Outback smartphone app and can be completed in
any order the teams choose. One of the goals was to engage with as many teams
and people as possible in the allotted time. This was very evident and
accomplished. After a slow start in the first half of the event, teams really
picked it up and were engaging with as many people and teams as possible to
earn those extra points.
Today, we are at a hotel and conference center in
Burlington, Ontario, where we hosted a smaller group of 14 professionals from
the tech manufacturing industry. There were participants from all over the
globe, several of whom had never met in person until today, and Getting To Know You was a great choice of activity to encourage everyone to learn a little bit more
about one another. This activity is guided by the Canadian Outback app, which
is a fantastic platform to have a variety of unique challenges immediately
accessible at your fingertips. In this person to person scavenger hunt,
participants got to enter submissions using photos, text, videos and even
augmented reality, while they earn points and made some new connections with
their colleagues. Even if you think you know someone well, the 90 different
conversation starters in this activity are sure to help you find out something
new.
Our latest event was an Amazing Chase, planned for a company
from a Technology sector. This was the 3rd year in the row they
competed in the Amazing Chase, so it was important to keep it fresh, and add
some new custom creative challenges. We had the pleasure of hosting our Amazing
Chase in the co-host city of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games – Whistler, British
Columbia. Just like on the Amazing Race TV show, teams needed to successfully
navigate road blocks, detours, and any challenges presented along the way.
Teams earn points by completing challenges and submitting their answers through
Canadian Outback’s smartphone app in the form of fun videos, photos, text and
trivia responses. It was a huge success as teams arrive at the finish for a
well deserved ice cold beverage. They shared stories, a few laughs, and of
course, the winning team received their coveted gold medals.
