Grand Team Building Cook Off in Maryland

Hello! Miguel here with another American Outback corporate event update.

The day started bright and early in Waldorf, Maryland, in the big open space at the back of the client’s office. It was turned into a kitchen stadium for this delicious Iron Chef cooking competition. Teams were asked to present their glorious masterpiece dishes at the specific time to the judge’s table for scoring. At the end, the victory went to the team that took the risk of creating something new with all the ingredients provided.

A Great Corporate Team Building Event in Toronto

Hi! This is Alexis from Canadian Outback Adventures & Events with another corporate event update.

This week we were downtown Toronto for a fast paced AmazingChase event with 16 enthusiastic insurance agents. The Amazing Chase is a race through a series of sequential checkpoints of challenges that foster participants’ resourcefulness and enhance their communication and problem solving skills.

This week’s participants really enjoyed the challenges that enable them to learn about their colleagues’ skills, identify team goals and devise creative solutions in accomplishing those goals.

Crime Investigators Team Building Event in New York

Marybeth here again from American Outback Adventures and Events with another corporate event update.

We ran our Crime Investigators event in Tarry Town, New York, this week for a software solutions company. This company had a 170 participants coming together from across North America for their leadership meetings. The event was a break between their meetings and a great way to kick off their conference. The participants were put in to 30 specialized crime investigators team to help solve the crime that had been committed at Tarrytown House Estates. In order to solve the crime, teams visited the 5 crime scenes, collecting evidence and documenting the scene. There was also an informant on the estate grounds where team had to approach this informant, give them a special phrase, and pay them some money to obtain the information. Participants had a great time playing the role, being creative, having a change of scene from indoor meetings and getting acquainted with some of their co-workers they hadn’t had the chance to get to know. Tarrytown House Estate and conference center is just 25 miles from Manhattan and has the perfect grounds and setting for our CI event. The afternoon was filled with team work, laughter and serious things like solving crime.

Bring the Olympics in your Corporate Team Building Activity with Urban Olympics

Hi this is Jill with another corporate event update.

It is September 9^th in Whistler, BC, we have just completed an Urban Olympics for a local financial company. They have come up from Vancouver to do a retreat here in Whistler and we were brought in to do Urban Olympics which was a fantastic event to do in Whistler just because we just had the Olympics here a few years ago. So, lots of really awesome Olympic landmarks for us to be able to focus the event around, as well as being able to theme a lot of our challenges around some of the Olympic events. I think the highlight was probably the Olympic obstacle course that we did with the group, they really loved the high energy of it. We had targets set up and they were using sling shots, throw and send the beads to having to shoot the targets, they just thought it was the funnest thing ever, it was really awesome. The clients goal with this event was to get the participants engaged in outside of their comfort zone, so they had a lot of challenges that got them not only to interact with their co-workers, but as well as, appeal for the public, as well as their staff, just getting that extra bit of interaction in there for the event. Everyone had a fantastic time, really enjoyed working with this group, they have great energy level for the entire event and had a lot of team spirit in the end which is fantastic to see.

Amazing Team Building Event in Montreal

Marybeth here again with Canadian Outback Adventures and Events with another corporate event update.

We’re just in Montreal running our Amazing Chase in the downtown area for a pharmaceutical company whom we have ran many different events for in the past and a great client of ours. The Amazing Chase takes teams on a sequential series of check points where challenges are encountered along the way. Similar to the TV show, there’s road blocks which are mandatory tasks teams must complete before moving on and there is also detours. This gives the teams choice between two tasks, both with their pros and cons. Custom t-shirts were made for this group to represent the Amazing Chase as well as the client’s brand they were launching. Participants were meeting from across Canada and the Amazing Chase gave participants a great tour of the beautiful Montreal. The course had a few custom elements where four challenges were themed to signify four of the client’s brands and what they represented. The race started at their hotel Westin and finished in old Montreal at Bubble Bar and Pizzeria.
